Our qualified, highly-trained profesional Armed Security Officers will provide you peace of mind.

Meridian Security Group has the ability to train, staff and manage an Armed Security detail, at events that carry a higher need for protection and security, also in the same varied modalities as the Unarmed Security (Static or Roving, on foot or vehicle, public, private or specialized), for as large or as small as necessary. As the bridge between Unarmed Security and Law Enforcement, Armed Security details can be established in the capacity of a Guard, at any of the same 3 type of locations as Unarmed: Commercial, Residential, or Executive.

Meridian Security is staffed with licensed, SLED compliant, highly-vetted and trained unarmed security and crowd management personnel. Our extensive pre-employment screening and selection procedures verify each job candidate’s background and assess a variety of personal qualities, including trustworthiness, honesty and integrity. Before hiring, our team members undergo a rigorous, multi-level interview process and a background check. They undertake a comprehensive training regimen that includes de-escalation tactics, safety measures and emergency protocols.

Some of the responsibilities our armed security officers may include are as follows:

  • Aid in the prevention of vandalism, theft, malicious mischief, trespass, active shooter, or use of facilities equipment.
  • Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
  • Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
  • Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
  • Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden articles Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitors entrances and exits.
  • Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements.
  • Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities Provide assistance to customers, employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.

Our Armed Security personnel are instructed to utilize their skills to de-escalate tense situations, prevent theft, vandalism and violence.

Meridian Security Officers will have the ability to operate with little to no direct on site supervision. We know that every business environment has different security needs, which is why we have leveraged our knowledge and expertise to develop a variety of security protocols within our training to accommodate any client’s requirements.

Breakdown of our Armed Security Services

Commercial Armed Security

At commercial locations needing a heightened level of protection, Meridian Security Group can facilitate armed security staff as a single Armed Guard monitoring either a single point of entry or a valuable asset, or organize an Armed Detail Unit working as a team, to protect a high value asset throughout the time of engagement. Often insurance coverages require that when in display or under transport, a certain level of security coverage is needed for assets of all types. Some examples are museums, banks, jewelers or grand opening parties displaying highly valued, sensitive or vulnerable objects or with VIPs in attendance needing added protection.

Residential Armed Security

At private residential locations, Meridian Security Group can coordinate either a discrete or highly-visible Armed Security detail for security programs to match any budget. This detail can be customized in size and directives and can work in tandem with any current security guard detail of the residents. A detailed analysis of location is always evaluated beforehand and discretion, as always, is a high priority in these settings. We serve numerous HOA's, gated communities, and condominiums / apartment complexes. Some of our duties can include roaming on-site patrol, parking enforcement, and access control of club houses, pools, and complex developments.

Executive Armed Security

Personal protection detail as an extension of the Body Guard concept can be provided with minimal lead time, location arrangement, or in tandem with the current VIPs staff. Examples are greeting a VIP at an airport or hotel for formal escort to and/or from an event, detailing a high profile entertainer or politician that necessitates an extra measure of protection around a venue, or adding staff to a priority individual’s current security detail specifically for our knowledge of the local landscape. Our armed security officers exhibit excellent judgment and demonstrate a positive public image at all times.

Armed Security Training

Meridian Security Group instructs all Armed Security Staff, having already completed the SC SLED Prime Basic and the SC SLED Prime Plus Unarmed Training, to complete the 40-hour SC SLED Prime Plus Armed Training Program, via the MERIDIAN METHODTM Training Program. Meridian Security Group offers certified training for (CWP) the Concealed Weapons Permit. For every Meridian Security client, a team is assembled to ensure that each post has met pre-set training requirements that all officers need to meet prior to working a post on their own. In order to ensure that the post-specific training requirements are met, Meridian Security logs all training completed with the team members profile and the employee cannot be scheduled to work that post if they do not meet the post-specific training requirements.
